la chambre de verre
Thermoplastic, pigments, aluminum
2023
Thought of this piece as a kind of shapeshifter throughout its exhibition history. At its core, it's a cast keypad that seems to hide an image within it, based on the traditional colors of harlequin costumes: red, yellow and blue. Depending on the context of the exhibition, the piece is renamed and positioned next to a closed or fake door, within or outside the exhibition space. On the floor plan, a space related to the respective context is shown. As part of my graduation, Victor Hugo's working room during his exile on Guernesey, which he called his chambre de verre (eng. chamber of glass) was sketched out behind a somewhat fake door that only covered some cables and similar infrastructure from the university.
